In a second pregnancy with the burden to care for another child and burdened by hopelessness, Carol spoke to a pastor who gave her the challenge of hope. After praying to ask Jesus into her life and committing the baby and her future to Him, she made the right decision to carry full term and to place her child up for adoption.
I celebrated a quiet, lonely Christmas Day overwhelmed and brokenhearted knowing that my husband and I had waited for our own child for six years. We had been married for eleven years but pursued adoption for six of those long years. Carol chose life for her little baby girl, born the day after Christmas. Two days later in a huge red stocking, a 5 pound baby girl was given to us. God had saved her from the lion of abortion and gave her life. For us it was a miracle.
We live in a day and time where life is no longer considered valuable. Little thought is given to remove an unplanned fetus or to kill someone in our way. We never have a day when violence, evil and murder fail to dominate our national and world news.
Not everyone can adopt a child, but everyone can chose life and stand up for the foundational standards of creation set forth in God’s Word. Pray for young women and men to make Godly choices honoring their bodies God’s way. Pray for pregnancies to come to full term and for many children to be placed in loving, Christian homes.
Pray for young women with babies to know God and to seek His perfect will for their lives. Pray for God to bring support, encouragement, and any needed help to those who are struggling emotionally, mentally, physically or financially.
Collect diapers and baby supplies for a pregnancy center near you. Volunteer to sort and fold baby clothes that are donated. Buy a grocery card for a young mom.
Promise: I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life that both you and your descendants may live. Deuteronomy 30:19 NKJV
Partnering with God: So many people in our world are making wrong choices about life. Do I appreciate that God made me and pray for people who are struggling with His plan for their lives? How can I influence others to choose life and support moral principles in this fallen world? How can I minister to those who have already made wrong choices?
Let me know your thoughts!
